With Young Kids

  • “Bowling with a twist” -- Take turns drawing from a hat. Some suggestions are between the legs, on 1 leg, backwards, or with your left hand.
  • “Go on a scavenger or treasure hunt” -- Make a map with fun clues and end up wherever you like. Some suggestions are: ice cream parlor, back at your house with a great gift for the whole family, or your family’s favorite restaurant.
  • “Write love letters to each other” -- After the kids go to bed, read them to each other.
  • “Go to a farm” -- Pick your own fruit and vegetables together.
  • “Make a family genealogy book together” It is a great opportunity for you two to learn more about each other’s history. Then you can share it with your children.
  • Go to the zoo, movie theater, amusement park, or arcade -- keep the kids close but make sure you two are having together time too
  • While the kids are in school, have a lunch or breakfast date instead of a dinner date.
 
 
 

Just the Two of You

  • Share workout routine
  • Active weekend getaway
  • Picnic at the playground- yes play on the playground like old times
  • Join a recreational sports team
  • Dance
  • Go for a drive and look for wildlife
  • Take a walk
  • Go to a concert
  • Make a picnic dinner and head to a great scenic area
  • Go wine-tasting
 

Empty-Nesters

  • Take up a new hobby together (pottery, painting, cars)
  • Entertain more, and plan the party together
  • Now is the best time to go out and do all those things you wanted to do, but were too busy to do.
  • Take that vacation you always wanted to go on.
    Take a trip down “Memory Lane” together. Pull out old pictures of the two of you and remember all the good times
    Volunteer somewhere together
 
 
 

Elderly

  • Look back over old love letters or pictures together
  • Renew your marriage vows
  • Go back to school together (sign up at a community college and learn a new language or learn about photography)
  • Go to the library together- pick out a book you think your significant other would like, and one you would like
  • Go fishing
  • Learn and cook a new recipe together
  • Take a horse and carriage ride through your city
  • Visit a spa together and get a massage
