Resources for Stepfamilies

If you are in a relationship where one or both of the adults have children from a previous relationship, you are in a stepfamily. People use many terms for stepfamily relationships: blended families, combined families, stepfamilies, and family. What you call yourself isn't nearly as important as how the experience is for eveyone in the family.

If you are in a stepfamily, you'll find good information and support in these resources:

The National Stepfamily Resource Center (NSRC)

This website serves as a clearinghouse of information linking family science research about stepfamilies with best practices in work with couples and children in stepfamilies. On this site you'll find a wealth of research information, links to professionals who work with stepfamilies, articles, support groups and much more.
